Dear Parents,

Wow - what a start! A huge thank you to all families who attended our Orientation Day, it was a very busy and exciting morning with many opportunities for parents and students to walk around the school and meet classroom teachers, form tutors and specialist teachers who work across the school. We had an excellent turnout during the morning at the scheduled times and I very much appreciate the help and support from parents and teachers to make this such a positive and delightful way to prepare for the start of the school year.

There was an exciting buzz, eagerness and an overwhelming feeling of excitement for everyone to return on Monday at school to start the new academic year! We cannot wait.

We are all looking forward to seeing the students on Monday, August 23, and being back in the classroom with friends, new classmates and teachers.

The format of our Orientation Day event to stagger year groups at various times to reduce the overall number of visitors on site at any one time worked very well and enabled us to be safe, to give everyone enough room and to follow the current guidance. Thank you to all parents and families for following this and supporting the school.

I wish all new families a very warm welcome to BISL and hope that our returning families had a relaxing and enjoyable summer break. If you could not attend the Orientation Day, we have many more events lined up over the coming weeks for you to find out more about what is going on across our school, what opportunities there are for students and how students learn at BISL. Details of these events are listed further down in this article.

During this week, you should now have received a letter/email from your class teacher or form tutor to introduce themselves, give information and a point of contact, should you have any questions this year.

I look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning.

Wishing you a lovely weekend,

Paul Walton

Principal

Our school is open, lessons run as normal and our after school provision will start soon with a range of clubs on offer for BISL students.

Further guidance regarding vaccinations or testing will be confirmed once national guidance is released.
