Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new block and lots of events and projects happening across the school. First of all, thank you for your ongoing support. I hope you have had a chance to enjoy at least some of the block break with your families. We have returned to school to see further improvements with the new building, the impressive new Ludus Sports Park dome which now features our school logo, and a display of some wonderful student artwork around the building.

Operating Procedures

We are hopeful with the current news that schools may be opening gradually from Monday 30th November. We aim to have started our Christmas decorations up at this time and want to make the end of this term as joyous and memorable as possible for all of our community. We will keep you updated of any changes as we complete a daily review of our safety procedures and our online provision.

Student Artwork

As we celebrate the Creative and Performing Arts during this block, please see a wonderful selection of student artwork displayed around the school, and I encourage you to follow our BISLArt Instagram page for regular updates with works of our incredibly talented students.

BISL Sports facilities at Ludus Sports Park

The dome at Ludus Sports Park is eagerly awaiting the return of our students, now featuring our school logo.

Please join me in congratulating our new PTA Committee for this academic year. We are delighted with all of the support we have had from our PTA teams, volunteers and parents in the past and we are excited about the future PTA events and projects that will positively impact the school community and our students.

An International Experience

I believe it is important to signpost to the community our commitment to continue to celebrate, educate and also discuss the importance of internationalism and the international opportunities that our students and families experience at BISL. As a community, we are enriched and excited to learn about the differences and similarities we all have as we represent many nations, countries and cultures from around the world.

I personally feel proud that we have many opportunities to listen and learn from each other at school and this can only be a great experience for our students to see, hear and feel firsthand. Please, keep having good conversations with each other and your children about how 'we are all different and all the same'. It is a special part of our wonderful community.

Facebook - communication of online events, in-school activities and student learning

We have uploaded a wide variety of images and videos showcasing what our students have been up to on our Facebook page, I encourage you to follow our page to stay up to date with school life.

Thank you to all teachers and staff who have contributed to this.

Upcoming Events

All of the latest school events are listed in our weekly Newsletters and posted in our events calendar on the website where you can click on specific individual events for the upcoming block to find out more.

Urgent Communication

All urgent updates continue to be sent via email.

Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your 'junk' folder and if you are unsure, please contact reception@britishschool.si to check your contact email and phone number on record. If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.

If you have any specific questions about the learning in your child's year group, please contact the Class Teacher/Form Tutor first.

As mentioned earlier, with a range of upcoming events, we also continue to decorate the school with Christmas items to make a wonderful atmosphere for the students.

Kind regards,

Paul Walton
