Dear Parents and Students,
We have come to the end of the school year and there are many highlights to reflect upon. It has been a very challenging and difficult year, but also a very rewarding and successful one on many levels.
In the final weeks, students and staff took part in various competitions as part of our PE Block, including Running, 4-Square and the Walk Around the World challenge. Well done to all Houses for accumulating high points and congratulations to Hessoniteas the winning House of the Year, having collected a whooping 3752 points!
Students received special certificates and awards in the last Primary Assembly for their contributions in different subject areas and student leadership - our Student Council, Prefects, Head Boy and Head Girl. We also learned about some useful Summer Tips, which will come handy for the holiday break.
We are extremely proud of all students for their perseverance and excellent achievements, despite the exceptional circumstances, changes and uncertainties that they have had to face this year. This is truly reflected in our recent outstanding PTM and PTE results. On their last day, students have taken home their summer reports, which showcase their hard work and progress, while giving students pointers for future steps in their lifelong learning. A huge thank you to all teachers and staff for all their contributions, which have led to BISL being recognised as an ‘Outstanding’ school, reflecting the high quality of education provided for our students.
Last but not least, I would like to thank the BISL community for their continued support throughout the year and to the PTA for their help in organising events. The health and safety of our community has been, and continues to be, the core of the school planning and development, as we look forward to the coming school year. Whilst we are excited to welcome new teachers to BISL, you will have received their introductory profiles earlier this term, we would like to take a moment to thank our leaving teachers for their dedication throughout their time here at BISL and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours. Similarly, to those families moving onto a different location, we wish all the best in the future, while looking forward to welcoming new and returning students to BISL at the end of August. Mark Friday August 20th in your calendars for Orientation Day, for a chance to meet our teachers, new families and find out more information about the school for the academic year ahead.
Have a restful summer holiday,
Katarina Železinger
