Today at the British International School of Ljubljana, we celebrated our Year 13 Graduation. A wonderful moment for our students to look back and value their experiences and accomplishments at our school.
We are very proud of our amazing graduating Class of 2021.
In what has been a tough academic year, they have faced a number of hurdles and overcome many challenges together along the way. We believe the values and beliefs they have developed at BISL will stand them in good stead in the future, whatever it may bring their way.
During the event at school, our graduates enjoyed student-led speeches from our Head Girl and Head Boy, a presentation from our Head of Sixth Form, Mr Batson and a speech from the Principal, Mr Walton. Photographs of special memories of the class were shared as the students reminisced about the fun times along with the unique moments they have shared together. The whole event was also streamed live on Zoom for parents, friends and family to share in the occasion.
A formal photograph of the graduates outside followed with catered food and refreshments before they finally collected their Graduation and High School Completion certificates.
The students have a fantastic platform of strong values, excellent parental support and a set of outstanding exam results. I am excited on their behalf as they head off to follow their passions, to enjoy learning and to love what they do. A very exciting future for a very special group of students. Congratulations."
Paul Walton, PrincipalThey now go off in different directions for the summer before collecting their examination results. We are delighted with their final outcomes, their submitted grades, as well as the ongoing university guidance and application process. The students at BISL will once again complete Year 13 with outstanding results and head off to their first choice universities after this summer. A success during this challenging time we are all very proud of.
It is always a bittersweet moment to say goodbye to students who I have known and taught for such a long period of time, however a necessary one. With hope and enthusiasm, I wish the Class of 2021 all the best in their future endeavours."
Jason Batson, Head of Sixth FormAs graduates of BISL, our students are always welcome back to our school, to say hello, catch up with friends and teachers, and even to inspire our next generation of students aspiring to go to university and to join a course which they have been working hard towards.
Congratulations to the graduating cohort of 2021. It has been a testing and character building experience throughout the last two academic years, with many unprecedented challenges to navigate. Well done, and I wish this cohort all the very best for their future endeavours. I know that you will continue to strive for excellence in your studies ahead, and continue your learning throughout your lives."
