Thank you for such amazing support during the past few weeks, I really appreciate it. I try to see as many parents as possible during drop off and pass on my gratitude for the way in which you have encouraged our school during this very difficult time. We have collected some of the positive feedback together in an article here.
Operating Procedures - Week Beginning Monday 2nd November
As of today (Friday 30th October), there are no planned changes for next week. Same operations, same classes online and the same students in school.
This is reviewed daily as there are no positive cases of students currently on site or with Primary classroom teachers in the building. If this changes, parents will be notified immediately. Anyone tested positive is currently at home resting or engaging with online learning.
As you have probably seen from our Facebook posts, our student attendance has been excellent at school (between 60-75% all week). Online it has been over 80% with some classes having 100% of students attend some lessons.
All urgent updates continue to be sent via email.
Please monitor your emails for future updates as this continues to be the best way to send out clear and consistent communication to all parents. Check that you are receiving emails, have enough space in your email folder, that they do not go to your 'junk' folder and if you are unsure, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to check your contact email and phone number on record. If you change any contact details, please inform the school immediately.
If you have any specific questions about the learning in your child's year group, please contact the Class Teacher/Form Tutor first.
I would like to say a huge thank you to all parents, students and staff for sending in photographs of their costumes and amazing carved pumpkin creations, as well as those who brought in their creations to school and those who helped with organising decorations. There will be many photographs of our blended celebrations going on Facebook in the afternoon, and keep an eye out for these in the newsletters too.
The role of the Parent Teacher Association is invaluable at school, and although at the moment your involvement on the school site may be limited, we continue to believe in the importance of bringing our parents together in enhancing the opportunities for our students, your children.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the BISL Parent Teacher Association Committee as a Class Representative or a Volunteer, if you haven't already done so, please complete this interest form to let us know.
We are delighted to create opportunities to bring you closer to our staff, to share personal thoughts, memories and insights. As such, we have recently launched our Teacher Feature series, this week featuring the wonderful Ms Harris from Year 2A. I hope you enjoy these articles as much as I do.
I would like to finish by saying once again that the support we’ve continued to receive over these past two weeks regarding our efforts to provide a seamless learning experience for our students with a blend of online and on site learning has been overwhelming. Please take a look at the Positive Feedback on Distance Learning article we've put together, including a gallery of images from these past few weeks. Your kind words mean so much to our teachers, staff, students and myself, thank you.
Wishing you a Happy Halloween and a safe and restful weekend.
