Year 1 and 2 Students Week 1: To support students in their first year of Primary school, parents are invited to park in the nearby public car park (see map below) and walk with children into the playground in the morning to help them allocate and line up with the Y1 class on the first day. Parents say goodbye to their children in the playground, as classes are escorted into the building by Class Teachers and primary staff. At the end of the school day, please follow the normal pick up procedures, which ensure that students are escorted safely to the cars.

NEW Primary students in Y3-Y6 Week 1: To support students in their first year of BISL, parents can park in the nearby public car park (see map below) and walk children to the drop-off area and say goodbye at the gate. Children will be escorted by a primary staff member to the playground area and directed to their class. At the end of the school day, parents are welcome to collect their children from the pick-up area/gate.

Week 2: Normal drop-off and pick-up procedures apply, as outlined in the Student Handbook.

Early Years First Day/Week

If your child is a returning child, please follow the normal drop off procedure. For new parents and students, the Early Years team will be able to greet you as you come in to support your child with learning about the new environment as per the Early Years Settling-in Booklet. More information about the first week will be sent out by the Early Years Team before the start. Please arrive between 7:30 and 7:50 via the Early Years entrance. For returning students, pick up is at 14:45-15:00 in the first week.

Uniform and Equipment

Students are required to be in full normal uniform and should bring with them any required equipment as described in the Primary Student Handbook. Y3-Y6 students should bring with them their personal iPad (see the E-Safety section). Please also see the Uniform section on our website.

Note that the Y5 and Y6 students should come into school with appropriate footwear as per the shoe guide. It is extremely important to label any clothing or personal items, so that lost items can be returned to students.

Snack and lunch: please bring in a healthy snack and a water-bottle. For ordering lunches, see the student handbook or contact the catering company directly for any specific dietary requirements.

Timetables will be handed out to students to take home in the first few days of school and shared with parents during the Curriculum Evening on 25th August.
