On January 28, BISL was honored to welcome acclaimed author and playwright Jane Coyle, who read her dramatic monologue, Farm Girl.

The powerful piece interweaves reflections on the Holocaust with the story of the Jewish Refugee Farm at Millisle, offering a poignant look at a lesser-known chapter of history.

Through the eyes of Serafina, a young Jewish girl transported to Ireland during World War II, Farm Girl explores themes of displacement, resilience, and hope. Coyle’s emotive performance brought the narrative to life, capturing our students' attention.

After the performance, Jane Coyle engaged with our students in a Q&A session, addressing their questions and providing deeper insights into her work.
