We are delighted to announce that we are expanding the school campus at the British International School of Ljubljana for the 2020-21 academic year.

This is fantastic news, to considerably improve the facilities for our incredible students and staff, further improving the learning environment at school. Building works will continue from the end of this term through to the summer of 2020. Plans include a new 4-storey building and an extension from the current woodland area down to the adjoining road (Cesta 24.junija).

Building Plans

These additions will directly upgrade our learning spaces, with further specialised classrooms, library, assembly spaces and extended outdoor play areas for the students.

The new building will be the central focal point of our campus and has been designed as a student hub to impress and reflect our value of ‘Excellence’ at school. It will stand out and be clearly visible from a distance to promote and celebrate the quality of who we are.

We believe in giving our students the best opportunities to make outstanding progress in their studies and to develop as individuals, not only through our pedagogy, but through continually investing in our facilities. As research has shown, school facilities can indeed have a significant impact on both teachers and student progress and achievements. Here at BISL, we aim to provide a learning environment that is consistent with the innovative, exciting and challenging curriculum that our teachers deliver.

Next Steps

We will send out a further update on plans and schedule over the coming weeks via our coffee mornings, school website and social media to show the order of all the stages that will be completed. It is a very exciting time for us as we look ahead to a bright future for our community.

I would like to thank all parents for your ongoing support as we continue to develop the learning experiences for your children here at the British International School of Ljubljana.

Kind regards,

Paul Walton
