Josephine Torrington

Year 2b Class Teacher

After gaining a PGCE in Primary Education at Canterbury Christ Church University, Ms. Torrington worked in primary schools in Portsmouth, England, then moved to work internationally early on in her career. Ms. Torrington’s specialisms in teaching orientate around children with Special Educational Needs, English as Foreign language and outdoor education.

Experienced in the world of international education, she has taught in cities within China, mainly spending her time at the Orbital campus of Britannica, Shanghai. With the Orbital campus in Shanghai, Ms. Torrington focused her time and efforts on developing social outreach and fundraising events for the school. Especially during the period of Covid, Ms. Torrington wanted to ensure the children and the families felt a strong connection with the communities around them.

In her spare time, Ms. Torrington loves to hike, swim and travel. Going out on long walks with her husband, Mr. Shavelar, and their two dogs are some of the fondest moments in Slovenia.
