Continuing the trend of outstanding results, an achievement we have become accustomed to at the British International School of Ljubljana. We are delighted to announce this year's AS and A Level results achieved by our students.

Having endured extended periods of online learning and other restrictions over the past two years, whilst bearing in mind that the majority of our students in Year 12 and 13 have not had any experience of sitting externally marked examinations (all of our students except two), we are very pleased to see that our year 12 and 13 cohort rose to the challenge and performed extremely well.

Through regular lessons, after school classes, homework assignments, assessments, mock examinations, revision class and booster sessions, it appears that the preparations for these examinations have paid off. This year’s cohort has delivered the best set of results from examinations to date.

A-Level Results

  • 100% A* - C Grade pass rate
  • 44% A* and A grades
  • 100% A* grades in Physics and Further Mathematics
  • 100% A* - B grades in Chemistry, Economics and Mathematics
  • Congratulations to Chloe who achieved 4 A* grades on top of her A* A-Level grade in Mathematics which she achieved last year

With the dedicated work of our teachers, supporting staff and students, the grades we have seen well reflect the strengths and potential of a resilient cohort who were able to overcome the challenges they faced over the last few years. It is wonderful to see the hard work pay off. We shall reflect upon the year, on the interventions that had the biggest impact in our students' learning and look forward to more outstanding results next year.

As the new Head of Secondary at BISL, I am humbled by the outstanding achievements of this cohort of students. They have achieved an incredible set of results in the most difficult of times and that is testament to their persistence, tenacity and willingness to embrace every learning opportunity available to them. Teaching and learning is the core purpose of BISL and it is a genuine honour and a privilege to be leading the secondary team this academic year.

Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) IGCSEs and A Levels are regarded as the gold standard of quality, respected by universities and employers worldwide. These excellent results have set our students on a clear path to success in their future endeavours, and will allow them to gain entry into the university of their choice, including some of the world's top universities.

At BISL, we pride ourselves on driving academic excellence, this is indeed one of the reasons parents choose our school. The successes of this summer have yet again set high expectations for our incoming cohorts and we look forward to inspiring, challenging and supporting our next group of examination students throughout their studies.
