Are you looking for ways to motivate your child further? Here are some useful and interesting techniques to use at home!

Have them set goals for themselves, together. Make a list of short-term goals and one for the long-term. Make sure the goals are reachable but require effort to obtain. Guide your child to choose the right goals.

In order to reach goals, you need a plan. Help your child create a strategy for reaching their goals. Make a step-by-step plan to reach them. The more colourful and/or personalised the better!

When your child accomplishes any of their goals, let them know how proud you are of them. Celebrate these successes together as a family. A sense of accomplishment is the best reward!

Let your child know you believe in them. Tell them how great they are going to do. Dismiss any self-doubt and fears they may have by talking through them, boosting their positive mindset.

Learn about your child’s interests. Talk to your child about them and listen. It will show them that you care and that they are free to talk to you about anything that is important to them.

Encourage your child to discover what they are passionate about. It may take a few tries along the way but support them on their journey towards passion and urge them to keep going until they discover what that is.

Maintain a positive and optimistic outlook for your child. If they see fear or doubt in your eyes, they will likely lose confidence. Having a positive approach will brighten their attitude toward any situation.

Get your child excited about their goals and passions. Show that you are excited for them too. The positive energy and adrenalin will push them to continue their hard work and be happy with their efforts.
