Ahead of the weekend, we'd like to give you some fun family activities you can do at home together!
There are many simple, creative, exciting and fun science experiments that you can safely conduct at home with your children. These may be food-based, slime-based, foam-based, physics-based or nature-based and more! Our science team have shared some ideas on Facebook previously, and some great ideas can be found here with descriptions and video tutorials.
Organise a family Dance Party! Put on your favourite tunes from Spotify or YouTube and dance away. Play a game of musical statues or musical chairs for example. And if you're feeling very cool and confident, you can even create a family TikTok video!
You can set up a fun treasure hunt for the family around the house or in the garden - hide a bunch of small treats for the children to find or create a trail of clues leading to one bigger "treasure" using any theme following your child's current interests!
NASA have set up Storytime from Space, with Astronauts on the International Space Station reading stories to and conducting science experiments for children on Earth!
Monopoly, Catan, Scrabble, Cluedo, Jenga, Trivial Pursuit, Twister, Operation, Mouse Trap, Hungry Hippos, Snakes and Ladders...
Its time to dust off and retrieve your board games from the attic for the ultimate family championship!
Create fun family meals together using some of these easy-to-make and child-friendly recipes or follow one of the recipes already shared by our students and staff on Facebook! Be it a healthy personalised pizza or a fruit salad, this will be a rewarding and educational experience for the children.
Popcorn at the ready, put on your favourite family film to enjoy together. You can even get the kids to make tickets and get dressed up as though you're invited to a premier!
Join Africam, the world's first interactive live wildlife channel, and watch wild animals in the beautiful African bush LIVE and unscripted. Elephants, lions, leopards and many more make appearances every day in the remotest of Africa’s locations.
Make sure to take part in a daily workout to stay fit and healthy! Join a live workout challenge from our PE Team every morning or create your own family workout. No need to overcomplicate this - taking a walk around the neighbourhood together or taking the dog out counts as a daily workout too! Fresh air and a little exercise goes a long way to maintain good mental health.
