Thanks to Ms Žepič who arranged a special guest speaker, we had Professor Vojko Kavčič from Wayne state University in Michigan, to present an overview of the topic of memory. Professor Kavčič works in the Institute of Gerontology, which as you all know means the study of the ageing process. His work focusses on Alzheimer's disease which is a form of dementia that affects memory, thinking and behaviour. Students were introduced to the science behind the disease as well as reasons why they might forget to do their homework!

If you know someone who is a bit on an expert in one of this year's subject areas then please get in touch so we can arrange more special guest talks. The subjects can be found at www.scholarscup.org/subjects/
