Another great 5 weeks of work has been achieved during the second block from pre-school up to sixth from within BISL Sport.
In pre-school PE and dance lessons, Miss Petra has led a range of difference dance styles this block and this was highlighted in the Founders Day performance with all pre-school children performing the Baby Shark routine flawlessly!
PE in Primary this block has involved soccer in which students have learnt passing, dribbling, changing direction, shooting and goal keeping. They have then confidently transferred these skills into match play. Again, every student has made progress in soccer this block and we have seen some great performances in mini tournaments in lessons!
Secondary students have participated in a new and exciting addition to the curriculum with a block of Ultimate Frisbee! Our wonderful beach volleyball facilities at Ludus have lent themselves well to Beach Frisbee training and match play. Students have learnt techniques of backhand and forehand throws, correct ways to catch, pivot and the fair play rules of the game.
The outdoor and adventurous students of our great award program MEPI completed their assessment expeditions in the beautiful Slovenian Coastal area of Portoroz and Piran during this block with Mr Irving. They executed sound map reading skills, camping and cooking skills and most importantly teamwork and trust over the expedition weekends.
Sports fixtures this block have seen two basketball tournaments in which our boys team represented BISL Sport at the Faculty of Sport Ljubljana against schools from the city (you can find the match reports on the website). Not to forget another mention and congratulations to the runners of the Ljubljana Marathon festival too.
We look forward to more sport and physical activities to come to end Term 1 in Block 3!
