We have been celebrating Science Week across the school here at BISL.

The aim of Science Weeks around the world is to engage and inspire people of all ages with science, engineering and technology, to encourage an interest in science pursuits among students and encourage the younger generation to be fascinated by the world we live in.

This year, the theme of Science Week was 'Journeys', encouraging young people to think about the different scientific journeys that happen every day and how they can discover science through their own lives and experiences.

Science Week Exhibition

Our students came up with some wonderful projects, from a journey through space, a journey into the Earth's atmosphere or a journey through the sea, there was lots to see at our Science Week Exhibition.

Rocket Competition

Our students were challenged to design rockets, made from recycled materials, to be exhibited at the Science Week Exhibition along with the other student projects. There were some truly fantastic creations, big and small!

We would also like to thank the staff and parents for their time and effort in helping the students with their rocket projects.

Presentations and Practicals

Some of our Secondary students put together a series of informative presentations for their peers on topics related to the field of science and how we can live more sustainably.

Our students also took part in hands-on practical lessons, some led by their peers, others led by teachers, as well as some of our parents. A huge thank you for everyone who got involved.

Overall, it has been an exciting and fun-packed week for the students to enjoy finding out about the different areas of Science. We have been hugely impressed by the imagination and creativity of the students, the work they have shared in assemblies, their learning in lessons and also the model making competition which has added a real energy and life to our corridors at school. We believe that this has inspired others to get involved in Science and as a school, we look forward to next year as we intend to build upon this wonderful event and make it a permanent part of the school calendar.

Thank you to everyone in the community for your ongoing support, time and encouragement in another fantastic event at the British International School of Ljubljana!
